Blake's Closet 2012 Clothing Distribution
The distribution for 2012 was held on October 20th, 2012. We partnered with the Presbyterian Church of Stanley, to hold the 2012 distribution. This was the first time Blake's Closet was held at this location, and it was absolutely perfect. We look forward to partnering with them next year.
This years distribution had more volunteers than ever. The Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) Sports Medicine classes assisted in set up and sorting and were a tremendous help. This years Blake's Closet would not have been possible without the help of these students, family, friends, and many volunteers from the church. The amount of volunteers we had from Thursday night, when the first truck was loaded through Saturday afternoon when all the supplies were returned to storage, was nearly triple what it had been in the past.
In our 2012 distribution, Blake's Closet assisted more people than ever before and handed out around 1,400 bags (13 gallon kitchen bags) of clothing to those in need. We look forward to the planning of the 2013 distribution. My vision for 2013 is to hold two distributions and expand it to toiletries and provide lunchs for the clients .
